Back to School

Thought a couple of pictures of the boys on their first days of school would be in order. Austin is off to 7th grade, and Braden off to 5-days-a-week, 3.5 hours per day pre-kindergarten.

(More pics will be posted now that we have replaced the camera someone stole out of Shelley's car in the parking lot of Braden's Mother's Day Out school in Cypress. Story for another time, I'm sure...)

Brad,

I didn't remember you yahoo address so I decided to google you and found you very easily!

I have not seen you in about 8 years and I have not communicated with you in about as long... but last night I had dream about you which was out of the blue and absolutely far out! You and your wife divorced and you and your son had moved to New York City. You were in Amarillo for some reason and I ran into you at a restaurant. You were talking about how great NYC was.

I am married (thus, the new last name) and have had 2 babies. My husband had a son, too-- so we have four all together. It's a lot of fun but certainly keeps me busy.

I am the public relations director for the City of Amarillo. That's my day job.

I remember we used to have those palms back in the day and I'd always try to "beam" you crap that you didn't want when you'd come into my office. BSA has changed so much-- you just can't believe how big it is is now.

Are you still recruiting?

I'll always think about you and about moon pies and the "Once in a blue moon you get to work for a great place like BSA." That was so much fun!

I'm sorry, these big kids cannot be my little Texas grandsons!

Heavens above, Austin will soon outgrow Grandma, as well as his mom. What great looking boys.

I have been taking a "Write Your Life Story" creative writing class at church, and we had to start with our own birth story and come forward. I am writing it as a legacy for my children and grandchildren. We have just started on our beginning school years. This has been quite an emotional journey - so far it's been good stuff. I have been enjoying reliving the young Garner family days.

Thanks for the good visit this evening. I love you and miss you.

Yes, I'm glad Breakfast Epiphanies is back.
